Recently I read about the 5 most common things that happen as a runner. Peeing, pooping and falling are among the 3 most common. Well, I experienced one of the 3 and no it wasn't pooping or peeing... I FELL! I fell and ate is so bad that I have a huge bruise on my hand and not to mention a NASTY STRAWBERRY on my knee. I was so embarrassed when I fell. It was in the middle of traffic and to top it off, there were people at the stop sign by where I fell. I stood up quickly, acting as though nothing happened. I didn't even want to look at my knees. I pretended as though it didn't hurt. I finally got far enough to take a look at the damage and well lets just say here is the result....
My first fall

Running

Since the "heart walk" I participated in this past year,I was convinced that I would do a run/marathon one day. Unsure if I would be able to do it, I decided I would make it one of my new years resolutions and I've done just that. I began somewhat conditioning in December but I wasn't really sure of how to prepare so I turned to the one friend I knew was a semi-pro, Leslie! She has given me great tips and has made my running time improve. Thanks to her I will be participating in my first run, January 31st. This has encouraged me to also participate in the rodeo run on February 28th. I will keep you all posted on my training. As of today I am able to run 6miles all thanks to Leslie's conditioning strategy!
I also wanted to congratulate Leslie for running a half-marathon this past Sunday. I know it was hard work and it all paid off. Now we'll finally be able to see her for more than 2 hours...lol So girls night out, when???? GREAT JOB LES! I'm sure it felt great going across the finish line after 16miles! I'll have to join you at the next one! (assuming I can get past 6miles..lol)
